Role Overview
The Financial Accountant plays a key role in supporting core accounting functions, focusing on month-end closing, reconciliations, compliance, and reporting.
Location - Walvis Bay, Namibia
Key Responsibilities
Month-end close processing and reporting to HO
Balance sheet reconciliations and resolving of variances
Preparation of monthly management packs and present to finance manager for review
Support to finance manager on financial reporting
Petty cash handling
Bank payments loading
Assist with cashflow planning and working capital monitoring
Inter-company reconciliations and resolving of variances
Provide assistance and guidance to team members on accounting principles, IFRS reporting
Ensure compliance with local tax and statutory requirements
Liaise with auditors and provide support during annual audits
Support any ad-hoc tasks related to the position and department
Role Requirements
Bachelors degree in accounting, finance or related field
Minimum 3-5 years experience in a finance / accounting role
Experience in logistics industry will be advantageous
Strong understanding of accounting and reporting principles
Proficient in MS365 applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams
Strong analytical skills to identify financial trends
Ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks
Strong communication skills and ability to work with a diverse local and international team
Positive attitude, proactive mindset, willingness to learn, adapt and grow with the company
