Role Overview

The Financial Accountant plays a key role in supporting core accounting functions, focusing on month-end closing, reconciliations, compliance, and reporting.

Location - Walvis Bay, Namibia

Key Responsibilities

  • Month-end close processing and reporting to HO

  • Balance sheet reconciliations and resolving of variances

  • Preparation of monthly management packs and present to finance manager for review

  • Support to finance manager on financial reporting

  • Petty cash handling

  • Bank payments loading

  • Assist with cashflow planning and working capital monitoring

  • Inter-company reconciliations and resolving of variances

  • Provide assistance and guidance to team members on accounting principles, IFRS reporting

  • Ensure compliance with local tax and statutory requirements

  • Liaise with auditors and provide support during annual audits

  • Support any ad-hoc tasks related to the position and department

Role Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in accounting, finance or related field

  • Minimum 3-5 years experience in a finance / accounting role

  • Experience in logistics industry will be advantageous

  • Strong understanding of accounting and reporting principles

  • Proficient in MS365 applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams

  • Strong analytical skills to identify financial trends

  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work with a diverse local and international team

  • Positive attitude, proactive mindset, willingness to learn, adapt and grow with the company
